What's better than a sunny day when you're about to do a photoshoot on the beach? A cloudy day.
Similar to the lucky rain for wedding days, cloud cover offers photographers a stroke of luck when capturing the essence of outdoor beauty. By harnessing the natural diffusion provided by clouds, we effortlessly soften the light, eliminating harsh contrasts between shadows and highlights. Say goodbye to intrusive glares and uncomfortable heat, as cloudy days provide the optimal conditions for a seamless photoshoot experience.. Overall, especially for kids, cloudy days are the best.
Venturing south of Cancun, passing by Playa del Carmen, our journey led us to Akumal, a hidden gem that still has this Caribbean chilled charm-vibe, (if that’s even a term lol) its beach is just absolutely amazing. Calm and pristine crystal clear waters, (you can see wild turtles while snorkeling) white sand, palm trees, overall the perfect backdrop for a family beach photo session.
That's what we had this time, family portraits with Lisa, Mike and the little Jodi. I just love family photography when littles kids like Jodi are involved. We always have so much fun playing around, laughing and playing games for them and their parents that time flies.
If you put together my favorite weather conditions (cloudy) and my favorite type of photoshoot (family). The results are amazing, unique and very spontaneous pictures.
I enjoyed taking Mike, Lisa and Jodi’s photos a lot. I'm grateful for their trust since the beginning, for the opportunity to capture these memories during their vacations in Akumal, Mexico and allowing me to preserve their family's love and laughter for generations to come.
